NEW FEATURES • VERY IMPORTANT: Whenever you upgrade to a newer version of CopyPaste, you should remember to remove any older versions manually from the Extensions Folder of your System. Then install the new version and restart. In Version 4.0.5 • Bug fixes. In Version 4.0 • Drag and Drop is now implemented in a couple of ways!! (Yeah!!) Using drag and drop invokes no context switches and hence no delays, which increases compatibility with all programs that support Drag and Drop. Text, Pict and Sound files can all be dragged to the Palette. 1. Dragging from one clip to another inside the Palette will exchange the clips. 2. Its now possible to directly drag text files from the finder to the palette. Very handy. 3. Dragging to the Clipboard Viewer puts the result into the current clipboard, dragging to the Clip Extender puts the result into the chosen numbered clipboard. 4. Dragging a clip from the palette is NOT possible. We have to live with this restriction for now. • the Clipboard Viewer is now integrated into the Palette. If you click in the content area of the Palette, the "C" and "P" buttons disappear and the clip is displayed, while just beneath it will be some information about the clip. The number of the selected clipboard is also displayed at the bottom-left of the Palette. Clicking in the Clipboard Viewer returns to the CopyPaste Palette view. • Two HTML tools are added. You can change normal text with symbols and diacritics to HTML text. All special characters (ASCII 128 - 255) are masked. With the second tool you can change HTML special characters to the Macintosh ASCII. • Tag and Drop now allows the use of the command-key alone as the hot key to use with a click. This was added because the contextual menus in OS8 use control-click. • A new tool which allows you to wrap text to lines with a maximum of 60 characters is added. This can be useful for formatting text for e-mails. • From the preferences you can now assign individual file names to the 10 Clip Archives. • The position of the Palette (collapsed and expanded) and its state (visible or invisible) are now remembered through restarts. • From the preferences you can now turn selected tools on and off, and assign a hot key to them as well. • A new menu for Internet tools is added • The "Long Date" tool first checks the clipboard for a valid date, and then converts it to the long date. Using this tool makes it possible to change a date such as your birthday from the format ‘9/2/54’ to the long format ‘Friday, September 2, 1954’ • The Online Help now supports Style. • The Online Help now has a button to copy the current chapter to the clipboard. This makes it easier to get the registration form. • If a clipboard contains an unrecognized clip format, then the content will be displayed as raw bytes in the Clip Viewer. • Option-Click on the Palette's "C" button now cuts the selection as it copies it. • Option-Click on the Palettes "P" buttons now empties the clipboard as it pastes the clip (=cut from the Palette). • The redrawing speed of the Palette is enhanced. • More bug fixes.
